The Wolf Pack

The pups are progressing well. They still need careful monitoring to make sure that their hips and joints are functioning and without pain. We are in close communication with their BFF Dr. Bobbie and her amazing staff at Daley Road Animal Hospital in Lapeer. While we are uncertain of what lies ahead of us, we are certain of one thing. The Wolf Pack will have a golden life. They will have a life well lived, no matter the length. Because they will need continual care with consideration towards their conditions, we believe that therapy work would suite them well. This way they can give love that only a golden can, while at the same time receiving a life time of love back.

So now what?

Given the fact that our adult handlers had kept these pups alive from birth on, and they had formed a great bond with them, we decided that the pups would stay with us. We accept the fact that they may not live past 1.5 to 3 years old. So, if they were to have a shortened life span, then their life was going to be an AMAZING one filled with purpose.

Sometimes the BEST therapy is in helping others.

Thus the start of Wolf Pack Therapy Dogs.

After a lot of research into the benefits of therapy dogs we decided that this was a perfect fit for our pups. Each pup has an adult handler, each handler was available 24-7 with the dog. Now to make it work.

Due to a county ordinance allowing only 3 dogs per residence we contacted our Township office early in February and are in the process of applying for a special land use permit. This will allow us to continue the pups training here at home and keep them with us through out their lives. Training comes first so that they are able to go into public places and visit those in need of a bit of happiness...a bit? Well, maybe a TON of happiness is more appropriate. These beautiful guldens are so squishy and love hugs and give more love than they get.

Following their training they will be evaluated at 1 year of age to receive the first of certifications as therapy dogs. Then on to form a golden bond in our community.

Regardless of the time we have with our Wolf Pack, we are going to make the very best of it, and insure that they are well taken care of...maybe even spoiled. They will have a FULL life of love, no matter the length.
